Joanne Brown’s current work explores pristine land and seascapes. These forms seem to come from a time before humans–when water was pure and the land untethered by man. These forums are landscapes portraying a deep blue lake in a high mountain plateau or an emerald green lake in a desert oasis. These sculptural land and seascapes are a contrast of earth tones and vibrant greens and blues. These pieces are highly detailed and complex in their construction, yet have a calming simplicity at first glance. This work takes the viewer to land and seascapes so beautiful and pure they seem real.
