Artist Statement:
I remember in college one of my professors said to find a shape that you like and create it in as many ways as you can to fully under stand it. The shape I love to work with is the figure and I’ve just begun to fully explore it.
My jewelry is and extension of what I learned as a metal smith and costume jewelry designer. I don’t use many gems or stones just the shape of the metal and how if reflects the light.

| Your Personal Biography |
My name is Edward R. Jones, I’m a husband to Amy, father to Rick, Jen, Ben and Shannan. I have been making things from wood and other objects for as long as I can remember. When I was in 7th grade I took up photography, I learned how to develop pictures and composition. In 8th grade I won best in show in a county photo contest for 7th and 8th grade students. In high school I was photographer for the school year book and newspaper. I also had classes in wood shop and graphic arts. I had pictures published in the local newspaper as well as winning awards in county high school photography contest. After high school I entered the Navy, did one tour of duty in Viet Nam and made up my mind to go to college and major in graphic arts. As much a I enjoyed graphic arts it seemed something was missing, I was still making things from wood, mostly things that I could use, tables, boxes, shelves. While in Providence I got a job in a jewelry factory and became an apprentice model maker. The job put my outlook on what I had been doing into prospective. It gave me a chance to make other peoples designs and a chance to make my own designs. I guess I’ve always looked at things in 3d and this job gave me a chance to really explore that side. I left the job after a year then went to Rhode Island College where I studied Metal Smithing and Design, then to Sculpture and Design. I won special talent awards two years for my jewelry designs. You can say the rest is history, from metal to wood and larger objects. I love the fact that I can create an object that can be view from any side and look different from each side. I hope you enjoy my work.
