Ivan P. Dobranic
Artist Statement
The reason that I paint is
that I am trying to capture a
moment in time. A feeling, an
emotion, a desire. I want the
viewer to have an emotional
connection with the art. I am
trying to create a sense of
actually being within the
scene of the landscape that I
am depicting. I want to
provoke a desire that will
compel you to walk into that
very setting. I want the
viewer to feel as though they
have truely been there. Or,
that this is a place that
brings up memories of a
similar scene that has special
meaning to them. They feel
that they want to be there. I
tend to use to use bold,
intense, yet realistic shades
of color to capture the
attention of the viewer , and
enhance the reality of the
subject. I favor realistic
landscapes because of my deep
love of nature, and it's
effect on my life. Because of
a shrinking of the natural
world in our daily lives, I
find we crave it all the more.

Artist Statement
The reason that I paint is that I am trying to capture a moment in time. A feeling, an emotion, a desire. I want the viewer to have an emotional connection with the art.
