Artist Statement:
Growing up in Mississippi and
the daughter of a farmer one
learns to love the land
,seasons, and the southern way
of life. Finding a way to
express this love has been a
life long struggle. How do you
express the smell of a sweet
wild jasmine, the feel of
fresh plowed red clay under
your bare feet, the sounds of
a creek as it rambles down to
the muddy Mississippi River or
the taste of boiled coffee in
a syrup bucket on the banks of
a river? Trying with color,
feeling, and hard work on a
road less traveled, but one
that you can hear the wind as
it blows though the dry corn
stalks on....
