karen pike is a los angeles based artist Education Los Angeles County High School For The Arts University of Arizona, bachlers in fine arts
Karen Pike is a uniquely talented rising star on the art scene. She has created many pieces during her career and the art displayed here is a culmination of her lifetime of painting. It includes an eclectic mix of the artists' favorite pieces. After graduating from University Arizona with a bachelors degree in fine arts, Her work is expressive but loose with bold brush strokes and lots of movement, her art really moves! There's the presence of duality in a lot of her paintings and multiple stories in her pictures which inspires each collector seasoned or aspiring personal interpretation with each of her pieces. However, each piece commands strength and stability by holding that delicate stroke of structure by the tip of her brush and her use of strong vibrant colors.
She has been featured at many art shows, festivals, galleries and exhibitions in Laguna,San Degio, New York, throughout the Southwest and as far away as Japan to show her boldly energetic paintings. At these shows, she is a favorite and her work is always well received.

Karen Pike is pleased to share a new series of paintings with admirers of her art. She is using a fresh pallet with lustrous earth tones .Karen pike iwas born in Los angeles,CA in 1975. After attending the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts she recieved a bacholors in fine art at the University of Airzona. she is ambitious, and her new work reveals a sophisticated awareness of the forces at play in the contemporary art world. In these new works, Ms. Pike is her most accomplished, exuberant and bright. It is apparent to the viewer that each new piece is executed with an attitude of nonchalance, and with an obvious joy taken in paint and painting. She recently described her approach: I feel that my paintings are very specifically influenced by Mondrians use of segments and color. They stretch beyond their borders so that each painting seems a fragment of a larger cosmos. The work acquires a second, illusory, scale by which the distances between points on the canvas seem measurable in miles. Karen is part of a group of Los Angeles artists that are evolving before our very eyes. Her oeuvre is an impression of styles informed by current and past experiences This diverse body of work caused a sensation when it was first shown to collectors in her native Los Angeles, and should rightfully cement Ms. Pike as an artist to watch. http://www.artwanted.com/kpike
As an artist, I absorb the energy from a given life and/or visual experience, filter it through my imagination and use my natural abilities and technique to channel that initial spark onto the canvas for the viewer. Art is the process of communication between the artist and the viewer. I realize that I am only a portion of that equation. To communicate with the viewer and get greater exposure for my work requires more than just artistic ability it requires knowledge of the business of art and the savvy to apply that information. My goal is to develop my awareness of the art business and have endeavoured to do so over the past couple of years. However, my career and the evolution of my work are at a point at which I must respectfully defer to those who do have this savvy and who can help me to scale greater heights by managing the business aspects of this process.
FINE ART ON METAL With the expansion of our homes into the garden I saw the need for fine art to have its place along side mother nature and the ever creative exterior of man. I believe our patios, loggias, rooftops, and garden nooks (no matter how inviting) lacked the representation of FINE ART.
FINE ART ON METAL is an introduction of metal, intimately mixed with various techniques , expressive brush strokes, and a flood of energy.
