Artist Statement:
Kathleen Heger

Rwandan Art: I have been
inspired to create a series of
oil paintings of Rwanda. The
Rwandan Dancer paintings in my
portfolio were inspired by the
grace and raw beauty of a
celebration dance held in
Musasa, Rwanda.
A percentage of each sale of
these paintings will be made
toward the Maranyundo School
for Girls in Nyamata which is
a tuition free middle school
for girls being built in
Nyamata, Rwanda. This area of
Rwanda was one of the hardest
hit during the 1994 genocide.
