Artist Statement:
I work in various media depending upon what I feel is most appropriate to the idea. Therefore, I include Prints: either hand made using dry point techniques or Computer and photographically generated, Sculptures and installations using recycled materials, Mosaics using traditional methods and lastly acrylic painting.
All my work is created from my own first hand research, recorded through drawing, sketching, painting and photography. Ideas develop spontaneously out of that experience and I work them up in a way that exemplifies the point I wish to make.
In February 2010, three colleagues and I will exhibit our latest work at The Empire Hotel, Brunei, under the group name of 'Empat' which means four in Malay. Our theme is "Home and Away" because of our recent experience; they as Bruneians studying abroad and newly returned and I as an Ex-pat who has worked in Brunei for the last thirteen years.
I am creating new work specifically for this exhibition based on my experience of the jungle and wildlife of Borneo. The Pygmy elephant features heavily because It is only recently discovered to be a subspecies and not a 'standard' Asian elephant! They are wonderful beasts who are endangered, along with ...

| Biggest Artistic Inspiration |
My Artistic inspiration may come from anywhere! At the prado I discovered how amazing Rubens really was and at La Reina Sophia I got held up by Jaun Gris, just before I made Guernica beep by standing too close to it. I love the exploded shed in the Tate Modern. |

| Why Did You Become An Artist |
I never really considered anything else, except perhaps to be a writer. After Art College, teacher training and twenty eight years working as an Artist and Teacher I still can't think of anything else I'd rather be, Art is never ending so it's impossible to get bored. |
