John T. Williams's Artist Portfolio
Welcome to John T. Williams's Portfolio.
John T. Williams has been involved the arts for twenty years, working in the creative disciplines of dance, film, theater, mixed media and digital art. He started his artistic career as an independent filmmaker at San Francisco State University Film School where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Cinema. His films received several national awards, including awards from the Chicago International Film Festival for his innovative dance film "Elisia", featuring dancers from the San Francisco Ballet.
After completing his formal training, John continued his interest in dance. He wrote several ballets and self-produced the performances at Herbst Theatre in San Francisco and Zellerbach Hall in Berkeley featuring dancers from the San Francisco Ballet and Alonzo King's LINES Ballet.
The artwork expresses the constant struggle and mystery of faith. "My intention was to try and capture the many depths of faith within the human spirit. Some images reflect a damaged and crippled spirit, yet some how, deep down inside, faith survives and ultimately heals bringing new strength and understanding. Other images capture a comforting, simple, "accepting faith". ... |
