Artist Statement:
My SENSUOUS SENSATIONS series are visual records of explorations of my personal sensuous perceptions, like erotically charged landscapes, that reflect my physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual being.
My artwork portrays sensuality and sexuality examined from a female artist's point of view, emphasizing the metaphor and ambiguity of universal affinities. While exhibiting biomorphic organic motion, a richness of energetic vibrations and depth, they emphasize the various harmonies of nature, encompassing contrary elements, and objectifying subjective reality.
While producing my artwork, I intuitively relate to particular sensations allowing images to flow and emerge from within. The paintings develop through deft handling, and multi-layering of thin coats' of medium.
I like to explore and confront the psychological and technical challenges of experimenting with scale to translate emotional and sensory perceptions into visual space.
