Artist Statement:
I believe that art makes your house a home. It is the focus, the whimsy, the warmth, the splash of color, that pulls everything else together.
You should never buy art to match your furniture, you should
buy art first, slowly as you discover it, and then find furniture to compliment it. There is no right or wrong art. If a painting strikes you, makes you think, makes you smile, causes an emotion, then it's perfect for you and it will be perfect in your home!

I love to go to the movies! Everything from special effect block busters to the lesser known films. I love to read the best seller type novels....crazy about Sookie and the whole True Blood craze.
I still play poker with a crowd I've played with for 30 years! We used to play until we would see the sun come up, now we are all yawning by 11. I still am the worst card player EVER...but somehow, I usually win! |

| Biggest Artistic Inspiration |
My childhood was filled with artistic people around me from all areas of the arts. My home was filled with original art from up and coming Pittsburgh artists. I still own a 6' painting of a family by an artist named Swaile that I have adored for 40+ years. I often wonder if he/she continued to make beautiful art. If anyone knows the name, please contact me. |

| Why Did You Become An Artist |
That's like asking "why did you decide to wake up today"?
I can't remember when I wasn't doing something artistic in one form or another.
I also can't remember owning a home that didn't have a room or two destroyed with paint!
I have always traveled to the beat of my own drummer and can't imagine what it would be like to exist without some form of artistic outlet. |

| Your Personal Biography |
I attended the Ivy College of Professional Art in Pittsburgh, PA. in the 70's.
I had a hand painted clothing store in the 1980's and a faux finishing business in the 1990's.
Recently, I was making jewelry with semi-precious stones and hand made clay stones. I adopted a reject, insane cat and I had to quit making jewelry because I knew he would spend his time chasing the strings and eating any stray stones....and the clay was poisonous!
Now that my children are grown, I am at a stage in my life when I can spread out in my home, paint my heart out, whenever I feel like it! Sometimes, I wake up in the middle of the night and go in my studio to paint and go back to sleep in the morning! |
