Artist Statement for Valeria Fulop

As a young child I was trained as a gymnast and I was learning classical ballet. I was fascinated by this unique art form which lets you express your feelings, teaches self discipline, strength and gracefulness. I was amazed by the beauty of the human body, and the ability to be able to appear strong and feminine at the same time.
My artworks reflect this expressiveness, so when I work I use rich colours and powerful gestures. I am inspired by nature, femininity, and I am always trying to analyze the object or model that I'm working on. My main purpose is to find that hidden inner beauty and restructure it within the work.
Artists who inspire me and leading me on my visual journey: Van Gogh, Frida Khalo, Klimt, Picasso, Monet, Gauguin, Degas, Modigliani, Egon Schiele, Jackson Pollock - Endre Szasz, Janos Vaszary, Janos Rippl-Ronai and many others...
