Artist Statement:
Capturing beautiful moments in the lives of horses — that is the theme of my work.
I’ve always been passionate about horses and art. Creating realistic, beautiful paintings depicting the strength and quiet dignity of horses in a brilliant palette of colors is an exciting, creative way to combine my passions. With their wonderful flowing lines and volumetric forms horses are a perfect subject.
Enjoy!...

| Your Personal Biography |
Karen Brenner has been combining her passion for horses and art in her business, Horse Paintings by Karen Brenner, since 1999. She enjoys traveling to horse farms and equine events to photograph all breeds of horses. She uses her photographs, as well as her four horses in her backyard, for reference material for her paintings.
The watercolor flower paintings which she created in the 1980s greatly influenced her current style of painting. With an eye for luminous color, she creates her unique realistic oil paintings of horses using translucent layers of oils.
Karen has a BFA degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She taught elementary and Junior High art, and also has a BS degree in art education. Karen has also worked in the fields of marketing and graphic design for the past 20 years. |
