Artist Statement:
Welcome to my on-line gallery!
Let me introduce myself, my
name is Yulia Korneva. I was
born in Moscow (Russia) and
now I live in Turin (Italy)
which is a beautiful city
with a rich history.
I am Prof. Alex Ognianoff’s
student for oil painting and I
studied the water colours
techniques with Prof. Sandro
Lobalzo.
I think that painting is the
form of art which allows to
express feelings, emotions,
dreams as well as the simple
events of every day life.
I attended a school of water
colour and oil painting in
Italy but I draw also with
ordinary and oil pastels,
grafite and colour pencils and
charcoal and use the computer
to create a digital art works.
The passion for painting was
born in me since childhood.
An interesting place, a
particular subject o a face
make me take a pencil and
sketch. Frequently a sketch
made on a little piece of
paper becomes a picture.
The subjects of my first art
works were various, it could
be a still-life, landscape or
portrait. With time and the
experience I felt that the
surrealism painting was a type
of painting was the best to
express my ...

Yulia Korneva was born in Moscow, the crossing point of classical European artistic currents, sovietic bases and the modern art of new Russia.
She began to paint at a young age experimenting without fear the classical techniques of drawing, oil painting, watercolor painting, graphics, reaching also the new horizons in sculpture and digital art. The first public success arrived in Russia for the illustrations of Nadezhda Korneva’s book of poems.
In 2003 she moves to Turin (Italy) where continues the appassionate artistic way and becomes the Proff. Alex Ognianoff’s student for the techniques of oil painting and studding the watercolor painting with Proff. Sandro Lobalzo.
In the first months in Italy she was noticed in more art competitions. In spring of 2004 the art work “Mystery” received the First prize of the Extemporary organized by Cedas Fiat and Angelo Mistrangelo’s critics.
The meeting with Nino Aimone in occasion of Art competition in Baldissero (TO) signed the new turn of her artistic way.
The influence of the passage from the Soviet Union darkness to the energy of new Russia lived in not far youth today reflexes in her works: in the surrealistic air, subjects, shadows and lights.
