| Your Personal Biography |
Laszlo F. Hamori was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1963. At the age of seventeen he fled Communist Hungary and lived in Italy, emigrating to Toronto, Canada one year later.
He studied Architectural Technology & Visual Art at Goerge Brown and Seneca Colleges in Toronto. He later studied at the International Academy of Art & Design, completing his program in Interior Design. He moved to North Carolina in 1999.
Hamori is a self-taught artist. His paintings examine human emotions. He is driven by passion for the richness of human existence. He speaks through his canvas in a language of vibrant colors, integrating a contrast of abstract figures. The subject-matter is bold and reveals the light and dark aspects of human experience. Hamori allows emotion to seize the moment when he approaches his canvas.
Hamori believes that every painting should invite the mind to discover new secrets and provoke our deepest thinking.
For Hamori, 'Emotions are what drive us; they keep us moist from the dryness of our being.'
Hamori lives and works in Hendersonville, North Carolina with his wife and son.
