Artist Statement:
The individuals I paint look
straight out from their world,
demanding to be seen.My
metaphors are everyday objects
used as a channel from the
artist to the viewer.

I use painterly brushstrokes
taken from a vivid palette.
The spattering of paint is a
violent action when what has
been repressed is released in
a frenzied assault on the
canvas. Layer upon layer of
paint intensify the color of
emotion.

The human experience can be
lonely. We are all more alike
than we are different from one
another. Feelings I have
experienced result in images
on canvas, exposing how
vulnerable we all are....

Why Did You Become An Artist Becoming an artist was not really an option. It is the most important part of me.

Your Personal Biography I was born in Toronto, Ontario and grew up in the midwest before moving to Georgia when I was 14.

Reading and drawing and sitting in trees was mainly what I did when I was a child. These were the places where I could most be myself. Even now I would like to sit in trees, but am a little afraid of falling. The reason for that is this: I broke both my arms in a car accident a few years back, and they have never been quite the same. The biggest part of my recovery was my determination to paint again.

I live with my three kids and will paint on and on...
