Artist Statement:
It is my belief that creativity is what we are all born with. Some folks have an natural inclination and need to express this, though I believe being creative is not exclusive to artists.
As an artist I have a desire to encourage others to live there lives creatively and hope that my work we enable this to happen through the rendering of subject matter which reflect the beauty of the creation all around and within me. Living a life with humour, humility, and a love of humanity is what I strive for in all I do particularily in my art work and as an artist....

| Your Personal Biography |
I am a 55 year woman on her way to becoming a crone. I have a passion for horses, art and children. I love portraiture which has been my subject matter for years however have expanded that somewhat to include other subject matter and am now wanting to explore abstract expressionistic aspects of art for my subject matter instead of realistic renderings. I attended the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and studied fine art, sculpture, mixed media and art education. I have studied theatre in Toronto where I took part in an intensive study of Comedia Del Arte. I am an apprentice welder, I love the sea and am an equestrian nut.
I live in very rural Nova Scotia on a tidal river. I am not one to exhibit in gallerys as I am not comfortable in the arena. I prefer to do commissioned work and need to be in love with my subject matter. I strive to be an artist with integrity and purpose. I have been more of what would be seen as a traditional artist. I am not always of the view that art is always open for interpretation. I believe that the artist has an obligation to the viewer much of the time and that creativity is not just for a chosen few. My influences have been some of my own painting teachers and particular books I have read over the years that relate directly to creativity and spirituality. I am an admirer of the classic painters, impressionists, many Canadian painters, William Kurlick, Alex Colville, The Group of Seven, Emily Carr, Tom Thompson etc.
