Artist Statement:
My professional life was spent as a commercial artist. At the beginning of my career I spent several years working as an art director for advertising agencies such as Ted Bates and J. Walter Thompson. During this time I won Awards of Distinctive Merit from the New York Art Directors Club and The New Jersey Art Directors Club plus two American Printers Association awards for excellence in art direction and creativity. In 1974 I opened my own design consulting company-creating advertising for many large corporations such as Citibank, Pfizer, Hoffman La-Roche, H. Stern etc.
At the School of Industrial Art (now known as The High School of Art & Design) I began my art training and went on to New York City University and The School of Visual Art where I studied commercial art. Several years after completing my formal education I studied at The Art Students League. Here I studied life drawing under Anthony Palumbo and oil painting with Robert Brackman.
