Lou Jimenez is born in Asturias and raised in Paris , displaying artistic aptitudes since an early age. She is raised surrounded by intellectuals and personas from the art and theatrical world, one of those including her maternal grandmother.
As a child past time she begins to experiment with paint and literature, her infinite curiosity of the world around her aquiring a particular point of view of reality that also reflects in her paintings where she atempts to express her soul. This is shown in her works where she expresses indefined impulses and aspirations that will become concrete and real through any object between her hands
During her studies in London she focused on her modeling career which led to a restlessness for fotography, sharing her past experiences and knowledge with fashion fotographers in France, Italy and New York in the 1990´s. She instals herself in Barcelona where she discovers new artistic impulse, works conscient of pictorical materials and is conscient of her need of taken object´s soul, situations and emotions. Her works were destined to private collections.
A self taught artist, she is dedicated to portray the world through her own personal expresiveness applying her own codes, discovering through reality the inner expression. Several journeys trogh desert or her lonely island in Bazil bring images from her painting, as far as Paris or Barcelona where she lives
Her career stops suddenly in 2005: the lost of her father breaks her world and nothing would be the same. After one year returns to painting and opens a new studio in Barcelona for collectors and regular clients that keep on supporting her. She spends most of 2008 in Red Sea (Egypt) where she finds silence and peace.
