Born: 1963, Honolulu, Hawaii.
Lives and works: Miami, Fl
Luis became impressed with the movement of the waves and the cycles of life while growing up as a child in Hawaii . Nature, water, life, all endure a never ending quest for balance and harmony. Luis finds this balance through the implementation of colors and figures that seem to move while others remain constant, representing equilibrium.
His work, though focused on color, is full of images, some obvious; many only visible through introspection and interpretation. Luis says, 'My art is a metaphor for Human Nature's constant quest for growth through learning, experience and contribution.' |
