Nimes, birthplace of Marc Dautry, is in the center of an multiple faces area. Near to Provence and near the sea, with the cheerfulness and the unconcern of the South, but also the arid and austere Cevennes.
At fifteen years, he leaves his native Gard for Montauban where his parents come to direct the Institute Jean Calvin. It is a large tear in his life.
His virtuosity of burinist maintained by a constant work will be recognized in 1972 when he will receive the Gold Medal of Biennial International of Engraving, in Florence. |
