Artist Statement:
Mariellage (Mariela Gómez
Erro, Argentina,
Chascomús-Buenos Aires, 1974)
currently lives and works in
Trier, Germany. She graduated
from UNLP in Visual Arts and
Arts Pedagogy. In addition,
she visited seminars in arts
with Hernán Marina and in
cultural management with
Tamara Domenech. She was a
co-founder and co-director of
the contemporary arts gallery
“El Chancho de Plata” in San
Telmo and a teacher of arts
history at the private arts
institute “Alma Algures”
(Buenos Aires). She wrote
exhibition reviews for the
magazine Ramona-web. As an
artist, she uses a broad range
of media (painting, digital
arts, installations, ambiental
organization, puppets,
photography and performances),
attempting to change the
atmosphere with a special
poetry. She has participated
in various single and group
exhibitions in Argentina and
Germany and received various
acknowledgements (2006:
Special mention in the objects
category at the end of year
salon of the Braque gallery,
Buenos Aires; 2001: Special
mention in the paintings
category at the Meeting of
Young Artists in La Plata). In
2006, she was a member of the
“Venus project” initiated by
Roberto Jacoby (Internet group
of artists) and in 2008 of the
group of artists “Corazones de
Bully”.
