Artist Statement:
When you close your eyes, you see with your heart. Look into my heart through my paintings. My abstract figurative paintings always have their eyes closed as if deep in dreamy thought of what they could be if they would only risk change. My painting style is one of "meridians". These one of a kind original abstract acrylic portraits are painted with the body's yin yang meridian positive and negative energy of the day that inspired me to pick up a brush and express myself. The effect is almost stained glassed and mainly "yang" directed with a focused, logical, and action oriented energy which flows from the sun and runs from the fingers to the face. I am a self-taught artist currently concentrating on being possessed and prolific in my art with a focus on abstract acrylic figurative "meridianed" paintings. | Why Did You Become An Artist |
I have always loved to draw. From the first crayon I held in my hand, I have always looked at what movement colors can create. I am always inspired by the lines, shapes, textures, and colors of nature and life's surroundings. Some people see things as they are, I see things as they could be. |

| Your Personal Biography |
LIFE taught artist. Having been a daughter, sister, wife, mother for so long now, I seem to have lost the ME in there. I'm at a place in time when I want to reconnect to being 'Martha' and not 'Mom', 'Honey', 'Mrs. Ramirez'. Like most women, I fell into a pattern of doing for others first and as time went by the more you do for others the less time you take for the 'ME' in you. I thought it was time to be what I always dreamed of being, an ARTIST! |
