I love anything artistic. I've decided that the creative side of my brain is the only side that works. I love to draw, paint, write poetry, read anything and everything of intrest to me that I can get my hands on, photography, gardening and being in nature. |

| Why Did You Become An Artist |
I am a very artistic person. This just seems to fall into place along with my other intrests. Art gives me a peaceful escape. I also feel a sense of accomplishment when I finally complete a piece of artwork. When others admire my work and give me positive feedback, it really encourages me to keep learning, practicing and drawing whatever I am in the mood to draw. |

| Your Personal Biography |
Mary Katherine Spence was born and raised in south GA. She grew up like most other kids with divorced parents. Living with her mother, she visited her father every other weekend. She, her brother and mother moved to Athens in 1984, where she now resides. Close ties to family have been important to her because she battles with major recurrent depression that stems from childhood abuse (from a step-father at the time), and other abusive relationships throughout her teens and adult years. Thank God for faith and family. She is now happily married with three wonderful children. The simple things in life are what continues to make her life worthwhile. |
