| Why Did You Become An Artist |
I make digital images that express my dreams and reveal what I feel about the natural and spiritual world: its colors shapes, textures, lines, and forms. My background in music supports my visual expressions where my goal is to make a connection between myself and the observer. I try to duplicate the elegance of the free-form entities that I see in my dreams. I hope my work inspires the observer, subconsciously or not, to develop his or her own special vision and connection to that other world we can only see when we close our eyes. My computer is my brush, the screen, my canvas; it allows me to create images that transcend the ordinary and traditional. |

| Your Personal Biography |
Maura Casanovas was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, the daughter of Cuban immigrants who fled to America to escape Castro in 1966. At the age of 4 her family moved to Miami, Florida to enjoy a climate much like their beloved Cuba. She began her arts education at a young age, studying classical piano for many years. Over the years her interests expanded to include writing, sculpture, and painting, with her main focus eventually evolving to digital art. Her skills have allowed her to express herself creatively as well as being a successful graphic designer, a job she has enjoyed for many years. Maura currently resides in Miami with her mother and sister. |
