Artist Statement:
The interest I’ve had on
trying to understand why a
person acts a certain way or
another in different
situations has been the
driving force that has lead me
to explore human behavior
through my work. Thus, its
content is developed with a
social focus in which the main
objective is to offer a
personal view on the
vulnerable side of the human
being and society in general,
one that can be questioned and
trangressed at the same time.
The irrational behavior and
ideology is an aspect
continuously portrayed in my
creations through different
concepts such as false
appearances and the urge for
protagonism for example.
These concepts are
reinterpreted based on others,
meaning they are presented as
allegories that are used to
give a different perspective
other than what they would
commonly be seen as, also
reflecting irony to a certain
extent to reaffirm the
critical sense I intend giving
my work.
To cite a better example, the
project titled Loincloth Gold
compares everyday life to a
stage play in which given
characters from society make
use of false personalities to
disguise a revealing dark
side. In like manner,
corroborating the social
criticism aspect of my work,
