Artist Statement:
Myrna Brooks Bercovitch
From my vantage point , as an artist , (the ultimate observer )
I see into my soul
I see a constantly changing world
I see them as complex images in tune with my inner being.
I feel in a 'pas de deux ' ( so to speak )
My inner rhythms connect with visual and emotional stimuli and
I respond - in my behavior and in my art pieces to the vibrations.
The works - a reflection to my inner responses .
Colors mirror my emotional reactions.
They are my instinctive reply.
Textures ( common to all my works ) express even deeper thoughts,
overlapping tendencies refer to fleeting ideas , details
We all see them.
I like to note them as layers in my thought process.
My own way of working has become comfortable.
Collage , painting , drawing , and printing , alone or combined -
My way.
To fulfill a need within
I feel fortunate that
I am able to share my thoughts
Silently
An attempt to pass on some insight or emotion.
Our noisy planet is burdened with many impositions -
Therefore this silent contribution
Is a solitude
I like to share
With whoever is sensitive and
Who is ever seeking to find it !
