Matthew F. Dougherty's Artist Portfolio
Welcome to Matthew F. Dougherty's Portfolio. I enjoy producing art.
I have a solid background in Abstract, Expressionism, Impressionism, Representational, and Old Master Techniques. I work on a multitude of projects at a time ranging in these modalities.
I have researched the Figure through Anatomy and direct application from Life(model) with such teachers as Deane Keller, Nelson Shanks, Martha Erlebacher, Ted Schmidt, Frank Porcu, Sabin Howard, Patrick Connors, Stephen Assel, and Vincent Desiderio.
I am transforming my art into a profession and apply traditional techniques from the 15th and 17th Century Masters; taught to me at Brandywine Atelier under master artist Neilson M. Carlin (a student of Michael Aviano). I aspire to develop my own atelier to train other artists in this traditional realistic technique and hope to pass on my knowledge to future generations.
