| Your Personal Biography |
San Franciscan born painter Michelle Bird received her art education in The Netherlands. She embodied her craft under the tutorial of the Dutch Poet and Painter Anton Martineau.
Bird has lectured at 'San Francisco's Academy of Art College' on drawing techniques. She has given workshops in experimental painting at Google's headquarters in Zürich and at the Integrative Psychiatric clinic in Winterthur, Switzerland.
She has gained Dutch and international attention with her illustrations in the book 'Closed Curtains Lives of de Wallen'. Other illustrations of hers have been published by the Dutch & Belgium publications 'Joie de Vivre'.
Her work has been shown in various exhibitions and galleries in europe and the US, including Galerie Cècile Charron in Paris, Galerie Mainau in Zürich and Gallery Bàni in Winterthur, Switzerland. Recent interest in her work is shown in Pakistani and Japanese media. She has won a nationally juried exhibition at the Contemporary Arts Center in Sacramento, California.
Bird's work is represented in private and corporate collections in the United States, Switzerland, France and The Netherlands, including those of Axa Insurance and SEC Communications.
