Artist Statement:
The creative work of the
artist can be defined as a
constant search for
himself, his creative
potential, the way of self
perfection. The latest
works by M. Antonov are
abstract, the artist works
with the sign. The
traditional still life objects
- flowers, dishes, fruit - in
his paintings
get certain spirituality and
ability to feel. They
experience the same
emotions and moods as the
artist in the moments of
creating them. All
objects in the paintings have
philosophical meanings and the
viewer can
search for them and every time
find the new ones. The color
in the paintings
by M. Antonov is also
symbolic. The blue is air, the
yellow is sun, the red
is fire and movement. The
feeling of movement and rhythm
is created by a
unique technique found by M.
Antonov - abrupt color dotted
line.

Born in 1967;
1989 - graduated from Samara Art College;
1990 - began to work as a professional painter;
2001 - became a member of the Russian Union of Artists.
Now works in the State Art Museum in Samara.
Participated in many regional and national exhibitions, among which there
are:
1995 - "Alternature" (group show), Samara;
1996 - "Rose of Peace" (group show), Samara;
2000 - "Art Palaces at the Volga River" (group show), Togliatti;
2001 - "Samara Still Life" (group show), Samara;
