| Your Personal Biography |
A self-taught artist, and New Jersey Native, Miklos Sipos fuses art and technology, nature and chemistry, into an alchemic expression of emotions and perceptions, creating a world where technology and nature exist in harmony. Drawing inspiration from the microscopic interplay of the organic and inorganic natural world, he combines Colonial pottery techniques, natural materials, unique pigments, modern polymer chemistry (including additives, thickeners, and curing), with lesser known secrets of the palette knife to breath life into each work. The paintings are untitled “for to name an image narrows the viewer’s range of emotional awareness thereby diminishing their experience and limiting their imagination”.
Each work contains sand from his favorite Jersey Shore beaches, from Bayhead, NJ to Long Beach Island, these are the places of his childhood. Growing up in Jackson, New Jersey he was never far from the ocean, spending much of his time on the beaches of Bayhead and Long Beach Island. When his family moved to rural farmlands of West Jersey, his heart remained at the shore. His passion for the Shore is only matched by his passion for his art. Miklos Sipos drew on his background in Colonial Archeology, Paleontology, Polymer Chemistry, Offset Lithography, Photography and Digital Design when developing and employing his unique technique, a technique which reduces the complexity of nature into basic forms of color and texture.
His color palette ranges from rich earthly hues to bold powerful tones indicative of the various Deco styles of the 1920's, 1950's and 1980's. He has authored, illustrated, and published several books. Currently, Miklos Sipos lives and creates in the rural farmlands of West Jersey. |
