Miroslaw Baca's Artist Portfolio
Welcome to Miroslaw Baca's Portfolio. I am a Polish sculptor currently working and living both in England and Poland. I have experience in many mediums as stone, wood, bronze casting, metal welding, ceramics.
A lot of my works are displayed in public places in Mexico, where I lived before and realized a sculptor's project in El Jardin de las Esculturas in Xalapa, Veracruz, as a Mexican government scholarship. I was responsible for holding workshops with local people, indigenous groups, of all ages and backgrounds, engaging them in the realization of the project. In Poland, the final piece of my graduation work from the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków ( Cracow ) was on public permanent display near the Jagiellonian University.
In 2005 I obtained the Royal British Society of Sculptors Bursary Award, gaining the membership and exhibiting sculpture works in RBS Gallery in London.
Sculpture is a means of expression, among others. This one, however, is difficult and specific. For me, it is the one that has appealed to me the most, not as a result of a deep thinking, but intuitively - language, form of communication, way of life.
