Artist Statement:
Over the years my art has evolved into a personal introspective search. The constant denominator is a strong sense of color, though the subject matter can range from whimsical to disturbing. The combination of these two ingrediants as well as my jaded perception of life are the fulcrum of my creative energy.
Since I have lived in Arizona for the last 20 something years, I am inspired by the colors and textures of the desert. For the last year I have been incorporating them into my work. ...

| Biggest Artistic Inspiration |
When I was attending Southern Illinois University and attempting to paint straight realism, a visiting artist whose name I don't recall, painted for the class. His style was train of thought, and he used everything to bring texture to his work. I was inspired by him and have been using that technique ever since.

| Why Did You Become An Artist |
It must be some form of insanity. It is expensive and frustrating. I think the reason I stay with it is that there is the occasion where it all works just right and there is a sense of contentment. It is also a form of meditation for me. All of the chatter in my brain shuts up and I am truly in the moment. |
