Artist Statement:
Over the years my art has
evolved into a personal
introspective search. The
constant denominator is a
strong sense of color, though
the subject matter can range
from whimsical to disturbing.
I feel my inspiration stems
from a past saturated with LSD
and a present filled with ADD.
The combination of these two
ingrediants as well as my
jaded perception of life are
the fulcrum of my creative
energy.
Since I have lived in Arizona
for the last 20 something
years, I am inspired by the
colors and textures of the
desert. For the last year I
have been incorporating them
into my work. ...

Please join us in our courtyards and suites for our First Annual Summer Suite Sponsor Soirée & Fundraising Event . Enjoy a relaxing evening of poolside live music, poetry readings, and local artists’ receptions and mini exhibits in each of our five suites and library. Refreshments, including Sangria, beer, and finger foods, will be provided as part of the $12 cover charge. ALSO, each participating artist has donated a piece of work for a silent auction which will continue throughout the night; all proceeds of the auction go directly to Casa Libre. There will also be a $5 raffle drawing to win a mystery basket of awe and wonder. After the scheduled events end, the pool and hot tub will be available for use until midnight; please bring your own towel.

The staff and board of Casa Libre hope you will attend our event to help us celebrate our organization’s growth and our current and future Suite Sponsors who have made it possible. We will be promoting our Suite Sponsorship Program throughout the evening; each guest will have an opportunity to become a Suite Sponsor, which involves either a one-time donation or monthly donations that start at $10.

Soiree Program Schedule:

6 p.m.: Doors Open. Artists’ Receptions begin in individual suites. Artists ( Lee Street & Heather Green, curators): Ellen McMahon, Heather Green, Cerese Vaden, Wil Taylor, Jessica Drenk, Lee Street, Billy Hayes, Mary Jean Galivan, Kate Hodges, Malcolm Horn ( bios below).
