Mori McCrae is a graduate of the Ontario College of Art, where she majored in drawing and painting. Part of her early training took place in Florence, Italy where she studied Renaissance Art. She won the Forsythe Scholarship in her fourth year at O.C.A for excellence in painting. As a professional artist one area of significant interest to her is portrait painting,. She has been commissioned to paint many portraits that are currently in private and public collections, like the University of Toronto, the Welland Hospital and the Grimsby Public Art Gallery. She has also explored mosaic and is currently developing a body of figurative drawings and paintings on transparent surfaces which explore the temporal aspect of life. |
