Ekaterina Prozheyko Biography
I was born in Ufa, Bashkortostan Republic, Russian Federation in 1964. I graduated from the School of Arts in Ufa, Art Graphics Faculty in 1984. After that, I studied at the Bashkir State Pedagogical University for another five years. I live and work in Ufa, and have been painting for the past 25 years.
Most of my work is in oil on canvas, but I have also worked with water color and gouache on paper. Many of my paintings were created out of my own life experiences and emotions. My style expresses strong, open feelings. I try to use bright vivid colors to express my emotions. I try take my own passionate feelings of love and then to transfer them onto my paintings. Many of my works represent a deep sense of eroticism. Some of my works contain subtle and cryptic messages, whereas others are blunt and straightforward. The characteristics of my images appear to be changing over time in tandem with my ongoing self-enrichment. I constantly experiment with the portrayal of my own woman’s image in different forms.
While the dominant theme of my paintings is that of passion and erotica, some contain extreme elements. I am not afraid to shock her viewers with outrageous themes. I try to achieve a sense of heightened expression by using bright colors, subtle edging and fine brush strokes. My artistic style took years the in making before I finally settled down with a particular unique combination of strokes, color dabs, contrasts and shades, texture, lights and shadows.
My artwork has been shown at several exhibitions in Russia, and Germany |
