Artist Statement:
The very world around us has
always been my passion. It
wasn't until much later in my
life that I would realize this
passion as more than a hobby.
It would become a driving
force in my life. Capturing
nature or people in that one
perfect moment gives you an
eternal image that you can
value forever.

As a child in rural New York,
I began to draw. It always
occupied my life as a hobby.
I would spend idle time
drawing portraits for friends
and family, or illustrating
wildlife for competition in
the local craft shows. Upon
recognizing my talents for
art, I attended Rochester
Institute of Technology where
I obtained my Bachelors of
Fine Arts degree in Medical
Illustration.

Specializing in Portraits,
Pets, Wildlife, Scenery

Medical Illustration is a
truly fascinating profession.
It combines a love for art
with a love for science. It
requires great attention to
detail and exactness. While it
may focus more on human
anatomy in art, it teaches
important skills that can be
used in any type of drawing.

Upon my graduation I was fully
ready to make my living as a
medical Illustrator. However,
something held me back. It

Upon my graduation I was fully ready to make my living as a medical Illustrator. However, something held me back. It was time to take a look within myself. I realized all the years I had spent painting as a hobby, I had actually been preparing for it as a career. I wanted to utilize my skills as a Medical Illustrator to capture the world through my eyes. It is this love for art that has helped me to stay so passionate about my work.

Many artists specialize in only portraits or only wildlife. I've found that my dedication is to specialize in all these things. I want to create an image that you can hold on to long after that child has grown, or the light has faded from the trees.
