Artist Statement for Nancy Baldrica
|
|
|
My experience in watercolor includes working with the medium for over twenty years. I continue to have a passion for the transparent approach and love learning about pigments and their individual personalities. I strive for brilliant, rich color in my works and incorporate transparent and granulating effects. My subjects include a variety of categories depending on what inspires me at the moment.
I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in art education and a Master of Arts Degree in art with an emphasis in painting. I am currently teaching art on the high school level in a public school but, I also teach several workshops, and adult classes on watercolor. My favorite workshop to teach is held in Taos, New Mexico each June. Watercolor enthusiasts from across the US converge on the Sagebrush Inn for a week of intensive watercolor painting and comraderie.
