Artist Statement:
I sense that the beauty of the
universe could be discerned in
the simple curl of a leaf, or
in the bones of a hummingbird
and when I slow my thoughts
until I am able to merge with
my subject, deep understanding
of the cosmic whole takes
place.
This merging manifests by
observation and finally comes
through in paint. What I am
left with, and what I hope
viewers are left with, is a
deep sense of joy. Not the
fleeting feeling we experience
by filling our lives with more
useless things, information
and clutter, but the spiritual
harmony that arises when we
know everything is “perfect”
right now.
