Why Did You Become An Artist Because i was meant to be

Your Personal Biography Nazia Hassan also known as Naz born in 1983, is a young Indian Artist from Dubai. Her works consists of abstract themes contributed with mixed media which depicts the liberal views of her artistic essence . “Through my paintings, I have found a way to express my shocked displacement and the subsequent, inevitable dive into the cultural potpourri of India.”

== Personal ==

On coming to Kerala, her liberal views & and audaciousness were looked down with contempt, which came as a rebellious time for a 17 year old girl. She tackled the situation by imbibing deep into the culture of the state.

She moved to Delhi after being selected for the MBA program from IIPM.
She dropped out from the Business school after being intensely inspired by a child prodigy based on Silicone Valley, to express her anarchist spirits in her own way.

She came down to Goa ; it being the only liberal place in India, and buried herself in different forms of Art that happened all over the place. One of her close acquaintance’s who was a common friend of Timothy Leary, Rajneesh Osho & Dalai Lama shared similar views on the drug culture, how different human minds transformed with drugs, & exchanged comprehensive conversations on almost everything under the sun. Art, Yoga & Meditation was taken up religiously by the Artist. Moreover living on the wild nature, forests, mountains, sea shores with nothing more than a mat and fire supplies, inflamed in her the element of freedom which raw nature gave mankind.

== Work ==

She started expressing her libertarian self through painting in November 2006, 8 months after which her paintings were exhibited at Neokala, after coming to Mumbai. She is not an artist who is binded by traditional methods and practices and wants to set the spirit of Art free. Her work consisted of surreal, abstract versions of mythical, landscapes, plain abstracts and so on. Her tools consisted of the traditional to technical methods to display her work.” I enjoy most the experience of color moving across surface and a great believer in mood of the moment to determine my themes.” While my focus theme is Kali at the moment, I have initiated several other themes that I will soon develop further.
She has been totally enamoured by the patient & sacrificial nature of Indian women and plans to give meaning to their suppressed feelings through her paintings, very soon

“A real artist is a glamorous barbarian, an aesthetic rogue, an ethical genius; but not a cheat.”
