Biggest Artistic Inspiration I love the Old Masters techniques and use layering and glazing techniques for depth of color and shadow; use of color of Impressionism; and line and simplification of today's Contemporary Art. I take some from here and there and make it my own.

Why Did You Become An Artist I guess I was born an artist - my earliest remembrance was drawing and coloring. I'm from a family of artists and painters.

Your Personal Biography As a painter, my desire is to share my artistic vision with you.

I paint in a contemporary realistic style using strong vibrant color and line in both oils and watercolors. I explore nature, light and shadow and color relationships. In my paintings I portray a hint of mystery and evoke a mood of quietness and tranquility. My oil and watercolor paintings are in series format. Themes I've explored are: The Ponds - waterscapes and fish; The Tropics - tropical birds, fish and flowers; The Villages - European villages and scenes; flowers; origami paper constructions; landscapes; and ruralscenes. I'm also exploring Asian art influences - combining Chinese caligraphy elements with Chinese watercolors styles.

I'm a Midwest artist who travels extensively both in the U.S.A. and in foreign countries. At this time I have more painting source material than time for painting! I live in beautiful eastern Ohio after having spent many years in the Chicago, IL area.
Most days you will find me painting in the studio or doing art-related business.

Maybe I was born an artist. Indeed I was always expressive and used crayons with abandon, much to my parents' dismay. I later learned to channel these impulses and entered art training. I've been a professional artist for 25+ years.
