Artist Statement for Nikica Cvrljak
|
|
|
Being born to a family of artists, I have painted since my childhood.
One part of my work (both painting and photography) is inspired by
the region where I live. It is coastal part of my country with its
Mediterranean light. I usually paint in oil, pastels, watercolors
and I do drawings in pencil. However there is no need to explain my work as I hope it could be understood everywhere. Painting is felt in a way that goes beyond language.
Doing both painting and photography gives me a satisfaction, as I think that every work of art which is honest and inspired can make
this world a bit better.
