Artist Statement:
Much of the artistic energy
and expression during my life
as a painter has been poured
into the production and sale
of family style portraits,
home, land and seascapes. I'm
goal oriented in capturing a
certain likeness for each
portrait commission and
although I strive for accuracy
especially in the underlying
drawing, I guess my personal
painting style thankfully
still gets in the way. During
the last few years however,
because of the internet,
blogging and the
painting-a-day phenomena hit
the stage, a challenge to
produce other stuff is
underway and I am currently
changing course and heading
into the wind. Painting for
the sake of painting is a new
world and so in a sense, I
have only first begun to
paint. Like a lifeboat on a
rough sea, I'm bobbing and
being tossed around but I like
it out here. ...
