Artist Statement:
In this continuous searching
and learning,
I could achieve peace and
harmony. My hope is that my
artistic expression transcends
and bridges the balance
between life’s constant
dualities.
While I am wildly passionate
about my painting, relishing
the fact that I was born to be
an artist, I readily accept a
title of an
artist-entrepreneur, not
hiding the fact that my art
also can and should be viewed
as a worthy investment. This
attitude is reflected in the
development of my company,
Studio 2010.
While I choose not to tie
myself to a particular
artistic current or movement,
I view the great works of
Guston, Pollock, de Kooning,
Kandinsky and Picasso as
elements of inspiration and
influence.
Another aspect of my creative
process entails a meditation,
where I simply try to become
one with my artwork. I put
aside all preconceived ideas
of how a painting should be
constructed and discard any
worry of such elements as
composition, perspective and
lighting. Unlike my other
artwork, where the general
colours and composition are
determined well before I start
to paint, in my meditation
process, I try to create an
emptiness within me to make
