My Absolute Arts portfolio is composed of a Pot Pouri of ...

| Why Did You Become An Artist |
I had no choice. From a very young child in grade school, I realized that coloring in my color book excited me way beyond my class mates. They stayed in the lines as we were instructed to do. And, their work was soooo neat but to me it looked too neat, it looked still, balanced and boring. Now, for my work, I was all over the page as lines were unimportant. I guess then even then I was an Impressionist. The colors were speaking to me and the more I colored the more excited I became. My work, to me, was beautiful, loose end inviting but Alas and Alack, my teacher did not think so. I was scolded for being messy. Thinking back on that scene I tell myself if that was what Miss Parrish (see I still remember her name) wanted to call my beautiful work then so be it. But, as the colors fall from my brush today and I watch them glide, slide, dance and spill across my canvas I am sooo glad I am still messy. |

| Your Personal Biography |
Excerpt from 'Our World,' the publication of Artists United, written by Ken Bowman:
'Now my darlin's...' that's what you'll hear when one of the South's great artists takes up her brush to paint. And before the class is over, you'll hear it many more times, for it's the favorite saying of this Southern Belle. But her students don't mind, for they all love her and as far as they're concerned she can say whatever she wants, because she teaches them to paint like no one else can. With her great sense of humor, love of people and superb mastery of technique, this classy lady knows how to 'make it happen.'
