Artist Statement:
My work deals with expression and color. My goal is to give the viewer an emotional experience when viewing each painting.
My foundation in academic realism influences the recurrent themes in my paintings, they may be landscapes, human figurative studies, or still life arrangements using realism as an unifying ideal.
Furthermore I have had a lifelong fascination with the abstract. I have worked as a minimalist and then using symbolic devices as an abstract expressionist to explore broader narratives.
The diverse subject matter addressed in my work is connected with a common regard for simplicity, beauty, atmospheric tone and the timelesness of artistic expression.
