Artist Statement:
Art is the link that binds peoples and shares concepts and emotions without words. It is a means of telling a story, exploring hidden recesses, opening and cleansing wounds, helping others to understand our culture and thought processes, educating where words can be misconstrued, learning to feel what others may feel and much more. This is true of all the arts, whether they be visual or performing, conceptual constructs or recognizable realities.
It is my hope that my works, which all have a tendancy toward the didactic, will speak of my hopes that humanity can and will grow to adulthood and learn patience, compassion, honesty, the understanding that humans are merely one of many life forms sharing this planet, and the only one that can improve or destroy it all. Conscience and awareness together share the most important places beneath the surface materials used to create the works I am now doing in unseemly haste, as though I feel I may be lacking in time to explore all I long to see and do on paper and other media.
I bid you welcome and hope that what I do may touch you and bring you joy and the warmth of ...

| Why Did You Become An Artist |
A writer from childhood, I have discovered that no matter how precise a word, it is merely a word and can neither explore nor express the true depths of my feelings. I turned to art to express what words cannot, and as another means of communicating my thoughts, be they polical, social or philosophical. Art is a tie that binds me to others, to sharing and has become necessary for a sane and balanced life. |

| Your Personal Biography |
A dual citizen (Amer/FR) and bilingual, I have spent most of my life straddling two cultures and exploring various and highly diverse fields. I am now living in Switzerland.
I am a Rooster and a Libra. An entrepreneurial leader and a negotiator, a facilitator and a teacher, yet others are my mainstay and my primary teachers.
I obtained a Master's in Anglo-American studies with a thesis in Black Power from the Univerity of Paris and recently, a Coaching (individual and corporate) certificate from the IRSP in Lausanne, Switzerland.
I am frequently a translator and simultaneous interpretor.
My writing (particularly my poetry) has frequently been published. I am presently a gallery director and curator, as well as the President of an artists' non profit organization and member of the Marketing Club in Neuchatel, Switzerland.
My art work, after 40 years, is only now approaching the standards I feel merit sharing it. |
