Artist Statement:
My work deals with the formal
arrangements of nestling
organic forms. I begin
painting with no particular
image, colors, composition or
other formal elements in mind,
just knowing that I will, in
some way, try to combine a few
organic shapes. An analytical
process of revision and
refinement will take place,
where I repeatedly paint over
the whole surface, redrawing
the forms and altering the
colors, seeking to find
captivating relationships of
compositional rhythms, colors,
and space. I struggle to
force myself into surprising,
unpredictable areas and trust
that I will be able to find a
way to a poetic solution. I
don't know exactly what I'm
after, but I know when I get
there....
