| Your Personal Biography |
Patrizia Nicolini, born in 1968, attended in the Accademia of Fine Arts in Venice and later the Remondini Graphic School in Bassano del Grappa ( Vicenza). Comics are among her interests as well. Her activity in galleries and exhibitions started back in 1991 with Fondazione Bevilacqua la Masa held at Giardini della Biennale in Venice, soon followed by many other stints all over the region.
In her works the human being becomes a twisted reflection from uneven mirrors, like a scrawny doomed presence soaked into costant silent grieving. The size of the canvas is quite impressing, lying on huge wood boards and polished with gold varnish.
Her language is pure cutting-edge expressionism furtherly filled with ironic drama which is revealed by the remote use of essential colors, sometimes just white, in order to turn the already non-harmonic gaunt anaomy into a haunting bodily likeness.
Recently, the Espace Miromesnil in Paris has been her latest gallery effort.
