Artist Statement:
Petros Karystinos was born in
Athens in 1954.
He studied Scenery at the
''School of Cinematography and
Television Lykourgou
Stavrakou'', Athens and
Painting at the ''Accademia di
belle arti'', Florence
(1972-1978).
He was awarded with a
scholarship from the
Institution of National
Scholarships (I.K.Y.) for his
excellenl work in the art of
painting (1990-93).
He has been a teacher of fine
Arts in secondary education
since 1981.
He has been a member of the
Chamber of Fine Arts in Greece
since 1981.

Petros Karystinos is the aurhor of the book ''Free Design'' which is the set text at the 2nd grade of the United High School(1998).
He has sccomplished two scheme- propositions concerning the teaching of Art lessons with the use of new technology (Internet / Multimedia).
Moreover, he was a tutor at the Educational Institute of the project ''Odyssea'' between 1998-2000.
His essays :
"In what ways our intentions are being accomplished under the difficult circumstances of our time",
"A suggestive analysis of a work of art in the module History of Art"and
"Expressionism, the direct expression of emotions"
have been published on the yearly scientific magazine "Art Education", which is published by "The Union of Art Teachers".
