Artist Statement:

Please patiently listen to!

People often say the artists
paint by their eyes, but I –
myself do not understand why I
paint by my ears. I often sit
alone, close my eyes and
listen to the sound from the
life, from the memory, listen
to the echo from somewhere…

Why Did You Become An Artist I would like to express my love for Vietnamese nature and rural landscape and craves through my paintings.

Your Personal Biography Full name: Pham Kien Giang
Date of birth: 01/01/1969 in Hanoi
Native village: The most old famous ceramic village of Bat Trang, Gia Lam, Hanoi.
Childhood: used to live with parients who were high school teachers in Bac Ninh. Then had moved to Hanoi to live and study. After that had gone to Europe for 7 years. Now lives and works in Hanoi.
My work is filled with the memories of my childhood when I used to go with own father by bycicle along dykies to native village. So my landscape likes dreams, likes real.
' ... time never returns. But memories keep us everything.
... life gliding on gives the man meditations. Childhood memories are always as innocence as at the begining.
... quite, romantic and delightful rural scenes arouse strong emotion in me, are endless inspirations for my creative power.
... I am free when I paint. All of my innerself has been represented in painting. I think, every one have his own personal view. My individual vision about human affection and relation as motherhood, love... can be seen in all of my works. Everything is human is respected.'
The paintings are my symphathy for contriving for living, are my crystal clear love for a way, a bamboo boat, a flood season.....
I mostly use oil and paints on canvas. By language of presentation, painting styles and techniques without obeying recent motifs, full of instinctual creative power, I would like to keep in my works all of my desires, sensibility, affection and meditation.
